Published in April 2014, this guidebook includes 60 hikes within 30 miles of downtown Atlanta.

Spink-Collins Park

This greenspace is in addition to those featured in Hiking Atlanta’s Hidden Forests.

Description: This is one of the true hidden forests in Atlanta. Over the span of several visits, I have still never seen another hiker on the trails in this park. Yet this greenspace that used to be a Boy Scout camp boasts beautiful forests, interesting elevation change, a meandering creek, and a really excellent playground. Park on Collins Road and hike up the ridge to the now-closed Spink Road and back.

What’s there: Hiking trails, several picnic areas, playground, exercise trail, Boy Scout camp ruins
